Sturbridge Lyme Awareness of Massachusetts
S.L.A.M. was started and is run by local residents who have learned the struggles of finding help for Chronic Lyme and the ongoing fight for quality of life. A common goal to work with the Lyme community to pass legislation for better treatment guidelines, education and someday a cure keeps us working hard. Awareness is key to making this all happen so we have introduced "Ribbons Across America" which is a campaign asking businesses and homes to hang lime green ribbons to make us visible and to bring awareness to the Lyme Disease epidemic. Supporting those affected has given many, direction and hope in their struggle with Lyme.
S.L.A.M. invites you to view the link below to "Under Our Skin" which is an award winning documentary telling of the personal and political issues of Chronic Lyme Disease. S.L.A.M. also suggests online support sites that allow you to contact others dealing with the same issues. These sites are a great source of information for those searching for answers and a way to express their concerns.
